silence

i am an avid pinner. you know that thing that sucks you in and makes you think everyone has these beautiful homes and lives and portfolios…….

well apart from that i just love the collecting.

but a few weeks back i started a personal photography project. its still in its early stages. and it will take over a year to complete. if not longer.

but i think these projects are important. to develop your creativity. to help you feel inspired. to push you.

and today. i found this quote.

from the ever amazing Henri Cartier – Bresson.

“In a portrait, I’m looking for the silence in somebody.”

and it resonated so. well loudly with me.

in a shoot i look for that still moment. the quietness. the calm. the self assurance.

i took this photo today. very similar to another series. it is part of my project.

but it was her silence. her calm. her slightly out of sorts but quiet self.
