Day Four School Holidays

i remember this time a year ago. i remember these holidays. and how lonely i felt.

we had just moved to a new city.

talei and i had left the friendships we had formed together from her first days.

and it was so hard.

when i think about these holidays now.

i think about how richly blessed we have been.

the beautiful new friends we have made. the women who have been so kind and warm towards us.

who have welcomed us.

today we visited delicious friends who have recently left the city for the good life.

and it was magic.

perched on a hill. surrounded by flowering apple orchards.

chooks. pigs. calves. horses. sheep. dogs.

fresh air.

we miss them from being right next door to us.

but we are sooooo excited that we can join them. stay over. and have so many new adventures with them.

oh yeah. and we practised our “this is what your face would look like if the wind changed”
