getting comfortable again in front of the camera

i read a blog post this week of a photographer whom i have alot of admiration for. a little of her post talked about how comfortable we can become as photographers to be behind the camera, rather than in front of it. and i would have to say i agree. i have often thought that being behind the camera is one of the easiest places to be. i am right in my comfort zone. i know my equipment, what it can and can’t do. but for the people i am photographing, they want beautiful photos, but that doesn’t always mean being in front of the camera is easy for them. so this year i am going to put myself in front of the camera more. organise a professional shoot for my family. allow someone else complete creative license. remind myself of what it feels like. so here are a couple of shots taken last night. as the sun was setting up on Mt Victoria in wellington. taken patiently by andrew.
