We live in the age of Social Media. And while it most definitely has it place within our lives. There are moments when it can take hold of us – in ways that are perhaps less than ideal.
My heart behind “This is Home” began just over two years ago. With a desperate desire to both honour and document the real in the everyday. To celebrate it with passion. To be unafraid of corners filled with toys, shoes piled high, plates covered in toast crumbs still sitting on the bench, unmade beds, toys placed as Art by tiny fingers, washing hung out to dry, smudged fingerprints and left over kisses on glass window panes….all of it. All of it – exactly as you are. Because it is completely magic. Its the real everyday magic that your children grow up in. Its the real honest magic that you love, live, fight, cry and breath in. And it should be celebrated.
Our lives should never all look the same. We don’t live in the pages of a magazine nor the boards on Pinterest. We live life with mess and chaos and to the full. With noise and laughter and spills and sticky fingers and tears. And that – is a whole lot more wonderful than anything. Ever.
Jessica, Torbs, Bonnie and Albert. Thank you. For not tidying. For not pretending. For trusting me to show you just how wonderful all the everyday is.
